Is it possible to import data from Microsoft Edge Dev to any other browser?

Copper Contributor

I want to copy the current state of my history to another browser as a de-facto method of saving a state. I could import data from another browser to Edge Dev, but I want to do it the other way around.

Hi,
Which browser do you intend to import your data to?

You could try to download that browser and see if it supports Edge insider versions. most browsers don't support import/export of data from/to browsers that are not at their final state, such as Beta/Dev/Canary/Nightly.

@HotCakeX I want to import to ungoogled-chromium, Internet Explorer, Chrome or regular Microsoft Edge. I couldn't find Edge Dev anywhere in them.

Well like I said none of those browsers have official Import/export support for the new Microsoft Edge insider browser. you have to use unconventional ways to Import your History items to them.

(you can use the article below, it's about chrome-to-chrome import but will probably work between chrome/chromium/Edge insider chromium too.)

you can of course Import other stuff to them such as favorites, passwords, address etc.

Update:

The History file of Edge insider Canary (the one i use) is located in this location

"C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge SxS\User Data\Default\History"

(Replace USERNAME with your own Windows username)

you can try copying it into the Google chrome's or Chromium browser's History location.

And this nice small tool for viewing History of All of the installed web browsers (including the new Edge insider)
