Feature Request: Right click on EDGE taskbar icon to pick profile for a new Edge Window

Copper Contributor

I use several different Edge profiles.  Rather than having to open an Edge window (with the default profile) then click the default profile to select another profile, which opens another window, I think it would be helpful to be able to right click on the Edge taskbar icon to select a profile with which to open a new Edge window right from the go.

I've been looking for a solution to this as well. I occasionally want to open Edge using a different profile (I have Work and Personal). Still, I first have to open Edge, click the profile icon at the top left, and select my other profile, opening a new window.

I know you can add another shortcut to Edge and add this as an argument:

--profile-directory={Profile Name}

I'd much rather have the option to right-click the icon in the taskbar to select which profile I want to use.
This is already possible for Incognito, so it would be great to add options for the different profiles (or the most frequently used ones)!

I'm sure there are technical challenges to this, likely caused by limitations in how context menus work in Windows, but I'm pretty sure I've seen this behavior with other apps.

Yes, I agree, having to make 8 Edge task bar shortcuts for my 8 profiles isn't an elegant solution. Right clicking and choosing a profile would be so clean and easy.
