😀 Emoji Domain support?

Copper Contributor

Hi there...

Safari supports emoji domains... does you guys plan to support emoji domains in Edge?

@Jon_Roig Yep, it would be great!

That is a great question, @Jon_Roig, I am not sure if we are. I will send the feedback that folks are asking for these on to the right folks.

Thanks! I appreciate it...

Related question, then: what are the rules for how a unicode domain appears in the address bar?
To be honest, I am not sure. I can ask.
So I heard back. We support the entry of Unicode characters. The browser will properly navigate to the URL entered. The address bar will also display Unicode characters. However, copying Unicode characters out of the address bar will result in a URL-escaped string to make sure it is properly readable when pasted given that it could be pasted into surfaces that don’t properly support Unicode. (Thanks to the search team)

Thx... I appreciate you getting back to me. So, just to clarify, does that mean that Edge will fully support and display emoji domains / other unicode domains in a manner similar to Safari?
