If I click on a link and come to a new page I cannot go back, and if I close the new page, the old is not there anymore.
What is wrong?

When you click on the link, you go to a new tab or on the same tab?
can you record what you are describing and attach the video to your post maybe?

in case whatever it is, might be caused by an extension, try disabling them temporarily:
edge://extensions/
