The Edge app for Android comes with a useful search widget.

Unfortunately it doesn't open a new tab to perform the search, but it uses the current tab.

Is it possible to fix this bug?

Once fixed, it would be really useful to set this widget as an Assistant, to have a lightweight and faster alternative to Google Assistant.
