Edge does not seem to be running on TaskBar but ...

I do not have active Edge running on the Task Bar but it looks like a process is running in the background. Any insights how to exit Edge completely when doing system maintenance activities other than forcibly killing the processes?

Solution

@lavanyadeepak This shouldn't happen. I have Edge, Edge Dev and Edge Canary installed on various machines, and when I close them, all running Edge processes are shut down normally.

Can it be you're using the Edge Startup boost? Go to edge://settings/system and check the first two entries "Startup boost" and "Continue running background extensions and apps..."

Does disabling them both solve your issue?

Thank you @Neon01. That worked and addressed the issue.
