Hello Insiders! Today we’re releasing build 88.0.702.0 to the Dev channel. It’s a big one, so we’ve got a lot to talk about:
As for all the good stuff in this build:
Added features:
Improved reliability:
Changed behavior:
Known issues:
Next week is the Thanksgiving holiday for us in the United States, which means that there will be no major Dev update, no intended minor Dev, Beta, or Stable updates, and Canary will only be updated on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We’ll be back to normal the week after!

1.Why not have an option to open the Collections in a new tab? It will be beneficial to organise contents and surf through large collection folders.
2.Pasting web captures into collection folders.

Great suggestion, sent feedback using feedback button on Edge few days ago about this, because it feels right to have this feature and helps to keep things organized.
please you also send feedback for this. to give it higher priority

@Dad2JTK wrote:@HotCakeX You know i been wondering this a long time, What the hell is the default setting when you are giving options and None of them say, "enabled equals-default", disabled equals not default" sure would help many folks out if these options were explained a bit more in the settings.
you're absolutely right, saying "default" without specifying what default is it's stupid. this is coming from Chrome but Edge should fix this.
they just need to see more people sending feedback through Edge browser about this issue, once they see many people want it they will do something about it

unfortunately not every flag modifies something in Edge settings, most of them are hard to notice, lots of them you don't even know where or what to look for as a change.

Any news on the frame dropping issues with YouTube videos?
I came across this in a search:
Edge Chromium dropping frames on YouTube videos - Microsoft Tech Community
With the Canary/Dev and official release all suffering the same problem, I'm going to have to resort to using another browser.
I watch a lot of YouTube content and this is driving me absolutely bonkers!

@mabster it looks like it will be in this week's update as well since this kind of got lost over the holidays. We'll make sure it doesn't make its way to Beta though!

@Dad2JTK The biggest problem with "default" is that the value of any given flag could be changed by an experiment at any given time (although most flags actually aren't experimented with), but they usually start out as disabled since flags are primarily a way to just keep code turned off until we're sure it's ready, so instead of "default", I think of it as "probably disabled". There are, of course, exceptions, like the the edge://flags/#edge-experimental-scrolling, which is on by default but we keep the flag around since we continue to use it for new scrolling features, and flags that are more than just binary enabled/disabled. I definitely agree that it would be nice to be able to peek behind the default though and know whether something is actually enabled or not, so for anybody else who hasn't filed feedback that they would like us to add that functionality, please do so we can properly prioritize it!

@Mapantz At this point, any info that we'd need from you is probably too sensitive to send here, so I'd recommend opening a support ticket at https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/support/request so our agents can get that info from you.
