Dev Channel update to 116.0.1908.0 is live

Hello Insiders! Today, we are releasing the first 116 build with 116.0.1908.0 to the Dev channel, which includes fixes and new features. iOS and Android will get the Dev build at a later date. For more details on the changes, check out the highlights below.

Added features:  

• Added JSON Viewer.
• Added option to turn off Enhance images on certain websites in the settings.

Improved reliability:  

• Fixed browser crash when using Web capture.
• Fixed browser crash when deleting Basic info items.
• Fixed browser crash related to Sidebar.
• macOS:
  • Fixed browser crash when it’s in an idle state.
• WebView2:
  • Fixed Webview2 Runtime 114.* hangs on AddHostObjectToScript for already existing object (#3539)

Changed behavior: 

• Fixed Ask me what to do with each download setting not working in Workspace.
• Fixed Outlook sidebar pane not rendering properly.
• iOS:
  • Fixed Always start with a fresh new tab setting not working for InPrivate mode.
• WebView2:
  • Fixed COMException reading WebResourceResponse content (#3229)

On MacOS Ventura 13.4 (M2), the dropdown on html <select> elements doesn't appear if the site is installed as an app.  I noticed this earlier today on the previous dev build before updating to this release.

Try the sample on  <select>: The HTML Select element - HTML: HyperText Markup Language | MDN (mozilla.org)

Then install the same site as an app and the dropdown no longer appears.

It's reproducible on any site I test (ie: the settings pages in Gmail, etc)

I'll also report this via 'Send feedback' if you want

@Eric_E - Reported via feedback also. On the Other Favorites menu, from the Favorites Bar, the icons are overlaid on the first character of the title text. This is also happening with the context menu in the Other Favorites.

I see the same cosmetic issue as @BoydB 

Bug: in the Favorites bar I have some folders containing favorites. When I click on such a folder, it opens as a menu. There I see that the icons of the favorites in this folder, which precede the names of the favorites, overlap with the first letters of those names. Note: this bug does not appear every time I click on a folder.

I also need more VPN data, 5GB finishes too fast

how is json viewer being used please, i update, and even enable the flag, try openning json file, still notepad, download a json file, still notepad, then how ?
Also, with this build, whenever i click onto ... button(to open settings), edge crash constantly, open using edge://settings is ok

I'm sure the viewer is meant for opening JSON files on the web. But if you want to open local files you either have to open Edge, press CTRL+O, and select your file or you have to change the file association in Windows to open JSON files with Edge instead of Notepad. If Windows 11, right click a JSON file, Open with, Choose another app and selct Edge and choose Always.

With that being said, I have not tried this and this description is just a general description of how you open a file in another app than the default app.

我连续几个版本都在反馈 访问 中国铁路12306网站 时出现字体重叠的问题，经过多次测试后发现，反复删除文件C：\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge Dev\User Data \Local State   多次后，可以恢复正常。这个问题在多台PC上都存在，用这个方法能够暂时解决，但不知道是否是最终解决方法。

@Eric_E    由于同一个问题，多次反馈，而长时间得不到回应并解决，对此十分的失望。感觉你们不太重视每一个insider的反馈，因此没必要再参与你们的测试。
