If I insert a large video on a PowerPoint slide, I'm offered the "Compress media" button to reduce video size to presentation quality. When this process is finished, it shows a status like "Complete - 7.8 MB Saved". (By the way, shouldn't the "S" in "Saved" be a lowercase "s" in the English version?)
In the German version it shows "Abgeschlossen - 7,8 MB wurden gespeichert." (see screenshot)
The word "save" has two meanings in German:
1. It can relate to saving a file, then the correct translation would be "speichern".
2. It can relate to saving costs, storage space, etc. as in "this process saved expenses" or "using jpg instead of tif saves space on your harddisk", then the correct translation would be "einsparen".
So in the context of file compression, translation no. 2 would be correct and the dialog box should show "Abgeschlossen - 7,8 MB wurden eingespart." The translation is correct in the last text line of the dialog box, where the corresponding noun "Ersparnis" has been used.
This error occurs in PowerPoint 2013 as well as in 2016.
