Is the downloaded version of Office used with O365 the same as Office 2019? If we used Office 2019 / on premise exchange versus O365 what would the endpoint differences be?
These do not have the same network connectivity requirements. Your Office 2019 install connecting to your on-premises Exchange server will require connectivity to that server instead of Office 365.
