I would like to know the best practice in this scenario. I have a client who has over 350TB of video files and they now want to start to utilize the cloud storage. In Azure, which option will be the best option to store the data and also the cost effective option.
When creating the Storage account, which option of the Account Kind is best option? StorageV2 or Blob?
Some of the data that are older than a year will be archived and I believe the access tier to be chosen should be cold?
When it comes to the different types of Storage Accounts ( GenPurposeV1, V2, Blob ) I always recommend the StorageV2 option since this is the one that supports the most functions and features.
So in your scenario where your client wants to store Videos, I would recommend a StorageV2 Storage Account with the "Cool" Tier, the "Cool" tier is the best option from a pricing perspective when it comes to $/GB
I would not reccomend Azure File Share for this scenario since that will be very pricy for you.
So I would reccomend this account setup
I also recommend StorageV2 over "Blob" since StorageV2 has more options for replication.
let me know if you have further questions or require more guidance
