Q:Hi, what is a CDO update and is it cheaper than 4,000$ or are we stuck paying 4k if we want to patch exchange 2000?
A: 1)  CDO is the collaboration data ojects.  It is a way for other applications to access mailbox items such as mail and the calendar.  You will need it if you run OWA, Lotus Notes connector, GroupWise connector, Blackberry Enterprise Server, or other applications that use CDO.

2)  $4000 is the cost of the Extended Hotfix Support-DST contract.  That gets you access to ALL DST-related hotfixes for products in the extended support phase of the lifecycle.  That includes Windows 2000, Eschange 2000, Outlook 2000, and Outlook 2002.
