SQL Deadlocks

Copper Contributor

Hi,

We have had a lot of issues with blockings in the CM DB.
Especially one particular SP.

The solution to this was update to CB1906. So we did, and all the worst blockings are gone.

Now, you should think we were happy :)

but the SQL guys are still looking closely at the CM DB, and they are concerned about the findings of deadlocks (10-20 on daily basis) and now management is concerned.

We think that the ConfigMgr is running and performing very well.

I have never been looking that closely on the CM DB, so I don't know if these deadlocks are ok and handled well.

Should we be concerned ? (create a ticket)

Anyone with knowledge/experience on this area ?

@bill_bjerrum deadlocks can be normal (very unwanted). What's causing them and how long do they block? If things are working fine, then it's sort of low priority. Something you don't want, but certain isn't critical since you're not feeling impact.
