Reports for computer lab usage

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I am looking for a report that might be able to tell me computer lab usage? The report would need to indicate how many computers are being used in a lab and during what hours.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Hi Probably this article will be helpful - Please write what you think: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-defender-for-endpoint/endpoint-discovery-navigating...

Hello @A1

I don't believe that is what I am looking for. I need to know for reporting purposes which computers in a lab are being used and during what hours. When I read the article I didn't really see anything that would assist with that? Unless I missed something?

But this feature will provide usage reporting for all end devices and additionally searches not managed for security, but maybe someone will have a simpler solution. Good luck
Hi,

I guess before we could answer this question. we need to have some more background information on how the lab is configured/setup.

Perhaps you could configure a scheduled task that runs at logon and/or on a specific event (disconnect event when it are remote desktop sessions) you could configure a task to create a file on a share with a timestamp and username in it..

Thank you for your assistance. I am a newb to SCCM so any information is helpful.
Hello,
Our physical computer labs are joined to our domain and managed by SCCM. Would the scheduled task you are referring to work in this situation?

Thanks!
You could try something like this.... it's not perfect but it does the job
