Endpoint analytics, helps you understand how your end-users’ productivity can be impacted by performance and health issues with your endpoint hardware and software.

With this initial release of Endpoint analytics, we provide insights to help you understand your devices’ reboot and sign-in times so you can optimize your users’ journey from power on to productivity.  .It also helps you proactively remediate common support issues before your users become aware of them which can help reduce the number of calls your helpdesk gets. Endpoint analytics even allows you to track the progress of enabling your devices to get corporate configuration data from the cloud, making it easier for employees to work from home.

To give you the visibility, insights, and actions you need to tackle these productivity killers, we are excited to announce that Endpoint analytics is now available in public preview for Microsoft Endpoint Manager managed devices!

Endpoint Analytics currently focuses on three areas to help you address endpoint related user experience problems:

Start up performance: Get end-users from power-on to productivity quickly by identifying and eliminating lengthy boot and sign in delays. Leverage the startup performance score and a benchmark to quickly see how you compare to other organizations, along with recommended actions to improve startup times.

Recommended software: Recommendations for providing the best user experience by optimizing OS and Microsoft software versions. This includes insights across management and deployment services such as Configuration Manager, Intune, and Autopilot, as well as Azure Active Directory and Windows 10.

Proactive remediation scripting: Fix common support issues on your endpoints before end-users realize there is a problem. Use built-in scripts for common issues or author your own based on the top reported issues in your environment.

These insights and actions empower you to improve end-user experience, lower helpdesk costs, demonstrate business impact, and make informed device procurement decisions.

Getting the following error, even with the Global Admin

@AlphaSeb Looks like the deployment hasn't hit your workspace just yet! The deployment roles out gradually, so it should be reaching you within the next day or two. Check back soon and let us know what you're seeing!

@Zach Dvorak thanks! It works now and first data is showing. Cool new toy!

Hi, I have few queries regarding Endpoint Analytics..

1)  How the telemetry data is been processed in Cloud for Endpoint Analytics? Is there any specific Microsoft Azure DC is used for processing Endpoint Analytics telemetry data? Where the telemetry data is getting stored in cloud? is it in Azure Log Analytics container? how much time it takes to process the telemetry data? Please elaborate bit more.

2) How the tenant's current metrics is calculated while creating a new baseline under setting and how to set Baseline regression threshold based on new baseline created in portal? Please elaborate bit more.

3) How the baseline metrics score (Endpoint analytics score, Start-up performance & Recommended Software) is valued in Baseline Management? and how the scores are calculated for
a) Endpoint analytics score
b) Baseline Score
c) Startup score
d) Software adoption score

Please elaborate more.

Went through documentation and needs more elaboration in Microsoft documentation for understanding the concepts.

Thanks & Regards,

Balasubramanian Murugesan

@Balasubramanian Murugesan , for 1) see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/analytics/data-collection . 2) i don't quite understand the question, but you should think about a baseline in terms of a snapshot of your metrics frozen in time. For example, say you create a baseline before replacing a bunch of old PCs to latest generation HW. You can compare the old scores for recommended software and boot performance before and after that change to have an idea of the positive impact on performance. Then say you define a regression threshold of 3% and take a snapshot before installing a third party AV. Your boot scores regress by 5% due to added time from loading additional agents, then your boot performance metrics will show as red because the regression was higher than the threshold you define . and 3) We feel the docs provide a good summary and there's no need to document the precise details, ie: The Software adoption score is a number between 0 and 100. The score represents a weighted average of the percent of devices that have deployed various recommended software. The current weighting is higher for Windows than for the other metrics since users interact with them more often.

Hi, The main difference I found is that, between existing User Experience Analytics tools with Endpoint Analytics is "it doesn't require any agents to be installed in end user devices" and its an Hybrid Device Management.

Is there a way to find MS Graph APIs used for Endpoint Analytics and how to generate reports via Endpoint Analytics?

Thanks & Regards,

Is there a roadmap available which reports for endpoint related user experience problems we can expect in the future (f.e. device application crashes or high memory usage)? This will help us a lot in having a clear overwiew how Endpoint Analytics will help us improving our environment.

@Jochen Schmitt i can't tell you all of our secrets :P, but we build our services based on customer feedback, and that's customer feedback we've heard loud and clear. Keep an eye on this space for more in the future ;)

Hi, I just have few queries regarding Endpoint Analytics:

i) I have a Windows 10, version 2004 device joined to Azure AD ( managed by Intune) and I have waited for more than 24 hrs , but the device is still not reporting ( but the devices from SCCM are reporting fine). I have checked the Intune data collector policy, it has been applied successfully and also there is no proxies configured on the device. Is there any way to find logs why it is not reporting?

ii) I was also exploring on the Graph API, need clarity on the following:

    a) Can I fetch only the start up performance score from API ?

    b) Will the API fetch values only for the Intune manged device?

@Aishwarya_03 we may need you to open a support case to investigate further https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/analytics/get-support

Hi,

Referring to the blog https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/resources/intune-devices-userexperienceanalyticsscorehist...

I tried to execute graph api in graph explorer but getting the following error:

Resource not found for segment 'userExperienceAnalyticsOverview'
What might be the cause of the issue?
