Office Templates - Word - Blue Spheres Letterhead - Russian

Hello team,

  1. First of all, I would like to support @Mourad Louha reviewing German translations in his question about content controls.
  2. Salutation rules: In Russian, adjectives are declined in gender. So, in order to avoid misgendering we don’t use male form Уважаемый but transform the whole phrase into Hello Recipient and then we add corresponding Russian punctuation, namely: a comma before the recipient’s name and an exclamation mark at the end.
  3. Mistranslation: The word stationery was translated wrong as канцелярские принадлежности, in this context it means бланк для документа (template form, letterhead).
  4. Describing hierarchy: In Russian, we tend to start describing any hierarchy from the most general term to the most specific one. So, while translating phrases like Design tab of the ribbon it is more common at first to send the reader to the ribbon itself (В ленте), then to its several tabs (на вкладке), and only then to specify the very name of the intended tab («Дизайн»).
  5. Overall translation was rather good but not sounding quite human. I’ve tried to give an example of a more natural body of the letter, so that it felt more native in the target language, without any reiterations and tautologies:

Best regards,

Mateo
