Start with Connection

A few recent conversations and a Linkedin post from @Cai Kjaer (link is in the blog below) reminded me recently of the importance of community managers starting with a focus on the human connection to support the strategic goals of work. I have captured a few thoughts here: https://simonterry.com/2017/02/02/start-with-connection/.  What do you do to move beyond just people on a platform and start to align the human relationships to the strategic work to be done in your organisation?

Great post, and great thoughts.
As we move beyond product and focus more on service, we're definitely starting to see more emphasis being placed on the human element more than just technical integrations.

Thanks Loryan. I think that direction can only increase. As we were discussing the other day on IT Transformation, all of us need to be increasingly focused on the strategic value that users and their organisations are seeking to achieve. We can only get there when the human side of work is well supported.

After reading your piece I can see how those first important steps are often missed with the assumption that bringing the tool is enough. Thanks.

An additional post to build on the theme of connection. We need to remember the value of reconnecting: https://simonterry.com/2017/02/06/keep-reconnecting-the-value-of-strategic-community-management/
