Three years ago, after reading #SixThinkingHats @Edward de Bono, a tool for group discussion and individual thinking involving six colored top hats, I developed #6YammerHats analogy.
I run this past a few people, some loved it, some thought I was meshuga! So I sat on it but now I feel the time is right to share it. I am a sure there are other community manager #cmgr hats so please comment and enjoy!
Star Trek/Thunderbirds hat - Enterprise Digital Transformer. I nurture purposeful #yammer alignment to strategic goals, generously share knowledge, create a growth mindset, co-create, breakdown business silos and deepen relationships #yambassador #intrapreneur #workingoutloud #wol #wolan #agile #digitalDNA.
Fedora - Digital Transformation Reporter. I look for grassroots business value stories in #Yammer that can be shared on the intranet using qualitative and quantitative storytelling to demonstrate the right behaviors and values. I make heroes of #Yammer group champions. I share external #Yammer success stories bench-marking competitors bringing the outside in on my #yammer work network #nofakenews #employeeengagment.
Deerstalker - Detective. I use Yammer private groups to run focus groups to gather Voice of the Customer #VOC - might be made public groups as might contain priceless tacit knowledge by subject matter experts #SME
Surveyor & Engineer - Hardhat. I run culture temperature checks using polls, ask big questions in the home feed to capture fast, authentic employee feedback that can be helpful in internal comms programmes.
Tiara - Head of State. I #Like colleagues good Yammer effort and add comment to nurture the right behaviours and values #workingoutloud #reward #recognition.
Baseball cap - Good Sport. I have fun with a purpose on #Yammer to build understanding of the company #brand #product to deepen relationships and encourage employee fundraising, sports or even pet photo groups #social #employeeadvocacy

Could do of course, however I positioned this from the the all singing all dancing Community Manager #cmgr viewpoint who tend to get little recognition for what they are actualy doing in an often large global organisation.

I like it. Although would you incorporate hats for those people who don't really use Yammer by choice - even though others in the org do?
