Yes, I know, some people prefer not to use it at all; and here is Spellcheck button; and it works in Quick Reply. As for me I'd prefer automatic spellcheking in Rich Text editor as well - English is not my strong point. Perhaps i'm not alone, for example it's activated on community.skype.com (same Lithium platform).  At least that's discussable.

This platform is using the TinyMCE editor for its rich text boxes, and there's a way for them to enable the in-browser spell checker. This would make it work with Chrome, Firefox, and IE11 and up.

I second this. I certainly don't want to have to press a button to do a spell check and even if TinyMCE spellchecking was interactive, my browser spellcheck has my custom dictionary.

Spellcheck is available as a button in the Rich Text Editor.Spellcheck is available as a button in the Rich Text Editor.

Noted that you don't want to have to click to do spellcheck but the functionality is there should you want to choose to use it.

The rich text editor being used on this site supports in-browser spell checking out of the box; it's just currently disabled. What's the reason to not enable that functionality?

Anna, using the button is "too many clicks" behaviour which is quite specific for this network. Unfortunately.

Hi @Sergei Baklan we have to investigate the custom dictionary because we don't want to see 'Skype' or 'SharePoint' autocorrected.  Let us get back to you on this.

Hi @Anna Chu, i see your point. On the other hand i played with the activated spell checker on community.skype.com and see it more convenient. And there is no autocorrection, editor only shows you wrong spelling from its point of view.

Any update on this? The built-in spellchecker is subpar at best, I would definitely prefer to use the browser/windows one.

Back to @Vasil Michev question - any update on this?

You will see automated spellcheck implemented in January.

@Anna Chu, thank you for the update

@bhanu chintha Which wiki pages are you referring to?  This thread is about spellchecker in the Tech Community.

@Anna Chu Sorry for the late reply.

Currently, the Spell Check option is only available on the the Publishing Sites. I was looking for this spell checker option in the SharePoint Site Collection Wiki pages without activating Publishing features.

Thanks & Regards,

Bhanu

@bhanu chintha This is something you will need to submit in the SharePoint User Voice forum - this idea is specifically about spellchecker in the Tech Community.

Hi all,

Need to back up a bit on this - it didnt enable as planned on our production enviroment. I will keep looking into the cause and get back to you once we have implimented it.

Hi Allen,

Great, thank you. I see it here, but not when reply in space thread. Have to change something in settings or native spell check shall be by default?

Got it, will wait

Lets try this again.

This is now enabled community wide.

The new spellcheck function works correctly on modern browsers and all mobile devices that support spell check. If you do not see spell check then its like you have turned it off or it was turned off by default.

In Edge on Windows 10 Spell check is disabled by default and you need to press WinKey + i and then search in control panel for Typing Settings. Toggle on Autocorrect misspelt words and Highlight misspelt words. Restart Edge and it should be working.

Let me know if you have any issues

Seems to work fine now, thanks! :)

That works now without any additional settings (Vivaldi, IE, Edge), thank you.  Why i commented yesterday, native spell checker appeared for a while and after that ABC button returns. Perhaps i checked the option in the middle of deployment.
