Since it is very hard to find or find things again in this forum, I find it even more frustrating that search is not very useful either.

I can't see the difference in results between using the "" wrapped around words words or not. Using the "" tends to give very tailored down results and not some mixed bag of beans.

In addition, when I search a second or third time, the search results headline does not change. please fix.

Just like you can search for groups in Yammer, a search for boards and communities would be great. I can find the Ignite community only via direct link but not via the communities bar. In this way, I don't know if there is a PowerBI community or if it remains on powerbi.com

Thank you for the search feedback, @Trutz Stephani. You should be able to access the Ignite community through the left nav menu under Events.

I did a search for @Joe Davies, the search engine replaced my search text with "Doe easies". This is absurd.

How can software be this bad.

Hi @Dean Gross we've added a list of all the bug fixes we're working on in the Sept 16 release notes.  This is one of them, please take a look: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Community-Announcements/Sept-16-Release-Fixes-and-Enhancement...

This is now fixed @Dean Gross.

Also do you notice that there is a 'Users' toggle at the top so you can search for members?

Silver Contributor

Thanks for getting that fixed. The problem occurred before I noticed the User's tab, a slight improvement would be to rename that to People so that it consistent with the terminoligy used in SharePoint (which is familiar to many)

We're trying to get it back @Dean Gross.  Likely in the next maintenance window this evening it will be fixed.

This is now rolled out @Dean Gross.  Search by Users is back and you can search for private messages with the individual too.  Suggested search now off.

That reminds me, when uploading picutres it is not clear that you actually have to wait for the picture to be uploaded before you can hit done. Light grey dots on grey background are not really a giveaway.

Please please please improve the UI/UX across these pages, they are so frustratingly bad.

Hey Philine, I've written a post about how search works on this platform. You can find it here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Community-Discussion/Using-Search-in-this-community/m-p/11137...

Good to know Michael.Thanks

Maybe a link to this from the search area would help users?

Nevertheless could the bug be fixed where the headline "results for XY" does not match the search xz. This occurs when you change the search query after the first search. (see image)
