Hi, Sheffer here from the Philippines. I am currently working on creating a news centre using the new SharePoint communication site. Is there a way to add an RSS feed webpart in the new experience or is there a workaround for this? Thank you.

There currently isn't an out of the box RSS feed webpart, but you could use the existing News webpart to show all the news on the site, or go to its See All link.

Are we expecting to have an RSS Feed webpart released in the next few months?

Or you can build your own web part I guess

Solution
I looked at the resources on GitHub and found some a good examples (incl. rss webpart) based on the modern webpart. https://github.com/OlivierCC/spfx-40-fantastics

As @anton mentioned; we don't ship an out of box RSS reader. You should likely check out our News solution to see if it meets your needs. Over time we'll be investing in News shared more broadly across your organization. (There are a few News specific questions already answered, if you want more details here.) We did have a great partner build an RSS reader web part at one of our earlier developer events. You can find out more about it and the dev here: http://sharepointshowcase.office.com/rss-reader

Any particular reason why we see the RSS feed webpart in Team sites but not in Communication sites?

And for what matters, also other webpart connectors.

With SharePoint Online and the introduction of Modern Site pages, users now have the ability to add the Modern RSS Web Part directly to site pages.

This webpart currently has limited functionality compared to it's predecessor, however, it is a good start for pulling a feed of external content onto a SharePoint page.

The main thing to consider is that this is only available for Office 365 Group-Enabled team sites. My assumption is that these feeds tie into the Shared Mailboxes of this Office 365 Groups and that is why they cannot get added to Communication sites.

@Sheffer SoriaRSS feeds would be so helpful in Communicatonsites:  I could add biotech headlines from popular sources for my scientists.  I found something in User Voice:
