I don't believe it's possible but wanted to ask if anyone has ever had Microsoft tag an existing Commercial tenant as Nonprofit. We have a small client who after years of trying finally got a nonprofit tenant. However, they have been live in a commercial tenant for 5 years.
We did open a ticket with Microsoft and were told it's not possible.
Thanks
Mark

Hi @MBenton
Thank you for posting to the community.
I see that you've received a response from your support ticket already. Since no one on the community can override the response from the Support team, may I ask if you have a separate question?

Solution
It is possible, and we have customers who have been through the same scenario.
In one instance, Microsoft removed the eligibility and the customer had to go through the process of re-activating it against what was now a commercial only tenant.
As this must be actioned/requested by the customer (via TechSoup), may I ask if they requested this for their existing tenant?
In Partner Center, once you are a CSP for the customer tenant, you will see the non-profit eligibility on their account view.
If you do not see the eligibility, I would check the tenant ID you have versus the ID the customer has.
Get proof from the customer and send that to Microsoft on the ticket you already have open.

Hi @MBenton ,
the customer should now register here:
https://nonprofit.microsoft.com/register
You can specify whether it already has a tenant or whether a new tenant should be created.
In your case, you MUST select here that it already has a tenant.

@Grace_Chang @Ian_DrewMSFT @Risa_Coleman Just and FYI- the issue seems to be resolved, but wanted you to be aware! 🙂
@MBenton we also have a Partners for social Impact (non-profit) discussion board along with the Non-profit community if you would like to follow those!
Thanks for being part of the community! -jill
