What happened to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations Order Lines Add-On?

I can see it has been deprecated as of September 1st, but why? Is there a successor?

What announcement did I miss?

Hello @Marcel_Altena

Thank you for posting to the community!

I see that you've posted on the CSP community, but your question is about licensing, so this could have been posted on either the BizApps or NCE community. I'll move this post for your convenience.

Also, there's a recent post asking about the commercial SKU for Operations Order Lines already.  I've escalated to find information on when the SKU was deprecated, when it was announced, etc. and am waiting for a response. I'll update the posts as soon as I receive more info - Dynamics 365 Operations - Order Lines licenses cannot be activated. - Microsoft Community Hub

Thank you for your patience.

Solution

Hello @Marcel_Altena

I do see that the SKU shows as deprecated on the current price list, however, the Operations Order Lines license should still be GA (generally available).

The response is that Partner(s) submit the issue via the MPN Portal for resolution.

Well, we got the response that the Order Lines SKU is deprecated, final answer. We have missed that announcement, can somebody find that?

Also they cannot tell us what the successor is, we have to contact a presales team. I was hoping the Licensing Concierge can tell me that

Best regards, Marcel

My question to you is: how come you see the SKU as GA?
Through our PDM we got the following message:

"I noted from the internal ticket created for our product specialists that this particular product will be launching in NCE at 12/1/2023"
This Product has been on the Market for over 3 Years ? I really do think that 95 % of People we Talk to, do not know what the order line licences are. In the Document "Multiplexing Brief" from October 2023 it says :
"A: Yes. Since these franchisees do not require direct access to Dynamics 365, one possible solution is to purchase Dynamics 365 Operations - Order Lines. The requirements for this solution are that it is an indirect transaction that utilizes an OData or DIXF integration and only updates data in the tables designated as qualifying for Operations - Order Lines. You can see more details in the Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide."
