Viva Sales - Are CRUD Validation Messages Displayed?

Copper Contributor

Hi,

Example scenario: We create validations for contact CRUD via plugins, business rules or synchronous workflows in Dynamics 365.

When the Viva Sales user creates a contact through Outlook or Teams and violates any rule, will the error message be displayed to the user?

I already consulted the Viva Sales architecture documentation and FAQs but I didn't find the answer.

Hi @LCMuniz

I've researched and reviewed several documents for Viva Sales, and I do not see any mention of violation errors when creating a contact.

Here are the documents that I reviewed:

Create a contact in your CRM from Viva Sales - Microsoft Support

Viva Sales FAQ - Microsoft Support

Use Viva Sales in Outlook - Microsoft Support

Use Viva Sales in Teams - Microsoft Support

HI @LCMuniz

As a follow up, I was told that there is field validation in Viva Sales UI for maximum/minimum constraints on number fields and text field lengths as well. So in those cases the "save" button will be disabled until the user fixes the field inputs.

Hope this helps

Thank you for both answers: we had consulted the documentation.
We understand the answer about validating the type and size of data in columns, but let's consider that Viva Sales does not yet display possible errors related to validations in the back end.
