Requirements to use Microsoft 365 Apps for Faculty for free

Brass Contributor

One of our customers is saying that another vendor is saying the Apps for Faculty licenses is free to use.  My understanding is that it is not unless a customer has purchased Apps for Faculty (or an onprem equivalent) in order to get the "free" license.  They are referencing the sku "S3Y-00004" which is free, but my understanding is that is an add-on to either the Desktop Education suite (since Office Pro Plus is included) or to Office Pro Plus for Faculty.  Is the Apps for Faculty license ever free (for the ability to download the apps, not the web version)?

Thank you

Hi,

With the end of the Office 365 A1 Plus Offer, is this SKU: S3Y-00004 M365 Apps Enterprise Open Faculty available for Free to Universities?

If available, what are the requirements to access this offer?

We have "Microsoft M365 Apps Enterprise Open Student" for free, Microsoft and our Supplier didn't tell us anything about M365 App Enterprise Open Faculty!!!

I confirm that this offer is still available, for Education, the licenses are provided free of charge in the same amount of Office Pro Plus VL licenses you have.
