Looking to find out what has to be quoted via FTE count versus actual user/device count. I know the base product needs to be at FTE count. What about Endpoint Configuration Manager? I know that anything that can be purchased as a FTE, needs to be purchased that way, but Endpoint Configuration Manager may be different (or does it need to be licensed by FTE count as it is a component of the Core CAL? There are two options: Endpoint Config Manager per OSE and Endpoint Configuration Manager per user. Are the requirements different for each?

Hello @Jennie_Maier,
Open Value Subscription for Education Solutions is not a program that I typically assist with.
I'm happy to try to assist, however, I'll need to clarify and make the question a bit more concise. Are you asking for the requirements between Endpoint Config Manager per OSE and Endpoint Configuration Manager per user?
Also, the acronym OSE has several meanings within Microsoft. Please clarify what you mean by OSE

Hello @Jennie_Maier
Thank you for your patience.

hmmm...I did not see where OnPrem & Online make a difference in this scenario.
As mentioned, Configuration Manager is a part of the (6) products listed in the snapshot below:
Therefore, you would purchase the EMS, M365, or Intune product the same as always, and Configuration Manager is included...it's not a separate license/product. Please carefully review the information in my previous reply.

Thank you for providing the SKUs. I've confirmed that those products are still available.
Your question is:
Can it be licensed by actual users or operating system or does it need to be licensed at FTE count?
The SKU description specifically says "Per OSE" and "Per User", so that tells you how to order each one.
Please let me know what I'm missing here.

The SKU says Per OSE and Per User, so yes, that is how it should be ordered.

@Sherry_Solomon_WTG Thank you for your reply. However, when I look at the price sheet I have, Endpoint Config Manager is considered an "Additional Product" versus a "must license company-wide or FTE count" which is why I was confused on this one. I use the OV Slicer from TechData, and there is a filter for Enterprise (must license company-wide - in schools, this would be FTE), a platform offering and then additional product. Since this is under "Additional Product" along with Windows Server, etc, I was thinking it could be licensed by actual count? Please let me know your thoughts.

@Jennie_Maier What is the Microsoft part number you are referring to? I believe you are sorting with the wrong tab. There are products that are used to create the OVS (Office, Windows, and some CALs) and they are called Enterprise. Products like Endpoint, Azure, System Center etc are called additional products meaning they can be added to an OVS but they cannot be the product used to "qualify" for OVS. The TDSynnex Microsoft team should also be able to answer your question. Note the last column says additional product not Add-on...different meaning.

As far as how to order the SKUs, I do not have any other information aside from what I've provided. Unfortunately, I do not have a MW escalation team.
If you're unsure about the Microsoft documentation, please submit a support ticket in Partner Center.
Suggestion: It seems that if you proceed with ordering the SKU(s), you'll get an error message if you're not ordering correctly.
