Why do closed cards still appear in the closed section , Is there a way to move out from the board ?

In our project, which uses Agile template the workitems which status is set to closed are still visible in 'closed' column of the Kanban board.

Please help me to hide closed workitems from the board, we don't want to keep 1000 work items in closed column.

However, these closed work items can still be visible in the "Closed" column of the Kanban board, which may not be desirable in some cases.
