Want to use SQL licenses on existing SQL Server VM? Changing the mode to BYOL.

Copper Contributor

We have multiple SQL servers running using the 'SQL Server VM images'. They are in Pay-As-You-Go mode currently. We have some existing SQL server enterprise licenses with software assurance. We want to use these licenses for the SQL server VMs running already.

I am following this article which shows how to change the licensing mode:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/sql/virtual-machines-windows-sql-ahb

My questions:

1.  As this process doesnt give any option to update the license key, where do we provide the key in this case?

2. What will be a good approach to perform this task on multiple servers?
