On-prem AD Office property in SharePoint Online

Hi, 

We have a property called "Region" in on-prem active directory.

Is it possible to map this property with a custom SharePoint Online (O365) user profile property? 

If Yes, could you please elaborate the steps?

Worst case I will have to go with custom sync job which may be time consuming job for companies with more employees.

I don't think that it is possible. Different companies have different needs so some custom code will be required.
