Create a tenant in Windows Virtual Desktop

Copper Contributor

I'm trying to follow this tutorial: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/tenant-setup-azure-active-directory

However, I cannot even grant permissions to windows virtual desktop. I have global admin access. I get the error: I follow the link, and it gives me error Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'MS Azure Cloud' and cannot access the application 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.

If the application code needs to be un-x'd let me know. Thank you!

Can you post the command you ran that led to this error?

First step In the process. “To grant the service permissions:
Open a browser and begin the admin consent flow to the Windows Virtual Desktop server app.“

Did you put in your own "tenant" name after  https://login.microsoftonline.com/yourtenantname/........

So if I do the manual URL way it works. Also, it works if I create a new user (domain is julian3216hotmail.onmicrosoft.com)

So I created test@julian3216hotmail.onmicrosoft.com but later it fails, and for whatever reason my main email julian3216@hotmail.com says doesn’t exist in AZ directory even though that’s the email I used to sign up with for azure

Strange...

Can you try opening a browser window in private mode / incognito mode and try the command again?

Same issue. I think it’s because in active directory it says the source for my email is Microsoft , not active directory... but I created the domain and got my free tokens with my hotmail email...
