AAD Premium P1 only

I see tons of AAD discussion and its abilities of the AAD P2; but with the AAD P1 plan, I don't find discussion for ONLY P1. Somewhere there must be a best practice, step-by-step article/spreadsheet that walks thru the abilities of the P1 only. The free AAD is a starting point for many and a migration path to AAD P1 is what I'm looking for. I have seen lots of articles about the different version with a few highlights of different function but nothing in detail. The details would be how to get from on-prem AD joined to Azure AD P1 joined to take advantage of Intune, security, compliance, etc.
