Use Addins with WVD Desktop Client

Copper Contributor
How can I get the WVD desktop client (from aka.ms/wvdclient) to recognize terminal services client addins?

I am registering an addin in the registry under

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default\AddIns\

But the WVD desktop client does not read/respect this registry key. How can I get the necessary add on registered such that it works with the WVD desktop client?

Do you mean local resources?

@Scott1963 this is a scanner addin...nothing special. A button in the remote session is supposed to launch a scanning app on the local client. That's what the addin does. I just need to make the addin work for the WVD native client.

Bump?

Is there a support group for Windows Virtual Desktop or is it only supported by community members? Opened a ticket with Microsoft and got no reply.

@Jeff I have same problem. Did you find any answers?

The virtual channel dll I've developed works ok with the full path to the dll set in the Name value of a key I created in either HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default\AddIns or the same in HKCU. It's a 64 bit dll as I'm running msrdc.exe 64 bit.
