Hello,

how do you manage the update management (Windows updates) in AVD with a hostpool?

We manage the clients with Intune.

How can I control the restart of the session host?

One consideration is to put the session host in wait mode, once no more sessions are on the session host connect to it via RPD and restart manually. But this is very error prone.

What is your AVD update strategy?

Another option is azure image builder with built in Windows update customization script and update your host pool with the new image.
I understand, this is not a great answer, we are looking at ways to optimize the experience for you.
