NEED HELP: RDP Remote Desktop Subscribe fails

Copper Contributor

Hi,

I downloaded Remote desktop client from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/clients/windowsdeskto...on my Windows 10 home pc but the Subscribe fails with below error which blocks me to connect to my work windows VM. Any suggestions why Subscribe fails and how to work around it? Thanks!

Message: AADSTS50020: User account '...@outlook.com' from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant 'MS Azure Cloud' and cannot access the application 'fa4345a4-a730-4230-84a8-7d9651b86739'(Windows Virtual Desktop Client) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account.

@potatobun Hi, it looks like you are trying to use your personal email address to connect to your WVD Desktop.  Your IT Administrators at work would have assigned your WVD Desktop to your work account so i.e. firstname.lastname@company.com . Ask your IT Administrator which account they added your desktop to and use that to authenticate to WVD, then your desktop should appear 🙂

Hi Neil, thanks for responding but my problem is that far yet. The RDP Remote Desktop client app subscribe failed before I can add any connection. Not sure it is bcs of my windows 10 home version or a free azure account. Please let me know.
