On the MacBook Pro 14" when connecting to RDP the desktop displayed cuts off about 20-30 pixels at top and bottom. The MacBook display is set to "Default for this Screen"

btw This is a great application!

Happens on the 16 inch as well.  Maybe an issue in compensating for the notch?  On my MacBook Air, full screen works great (nothing clipped and the menu bar auto-hides).   On the 16", the mac remote desktop menu bar does not hide, and clips off the windows menu bar (see pic).  Would be great to get a resolution to this,  Thanks!Screen Shot 2021-11-12 at 5.51.08 AM.png

Actually with some searching I found the fix! Open the Get Info box for the app and check the “scale to fit below the camera” option (about ½ way down) Dismiss the Info box and it works fine after that

Thanks for the suggestion.   I tried it on my 16", but it doesn't seem to make any difference whether it's checked or not.  I appreciate the reply though...

I stumbled on the solution. Edit the RDP settings for the machine itself, click on the display tab and check the two boxes for optimize to retina, and update resolution on change.  That fills the screen nicely without clipping.  Hope it helps!   Thanks

Hi! I have the same issue as the ones described above, but the above fixes do not seem to have helped. :(

- After an app update the Get Info panel no longer has the “Scale to fit below built-in camera” option

- Changing the RDP settings as below, the problem still persists.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Hi.  I have found that setting the screen resolution to resize automatically in Remote Desktop app works when maximized on session connect for windows 10 connections.  For windows 11, when starting maximized it still crops.  Resizing and re-maximizing the window on the mac with the auto resize on works for windows 11 (for me anyway).  Would be nice for Microsoft to fix it for good.

It's just as you said. With the re-size setting on, going out of full screen and back into it fixes it!

Thank you so much.

I get this also on a regular macOS screen with 'Menu Bar visible in Full Screen' turned on - the top of the remote session is cropped to the height of the menu bar, as if the remote session resized to my screen height before the window maximised and found its actual pixel height.

I was able to fix this on a Mac 14" M1 by moving the control bar to a secondary monitor on the Mac. Drag the bar in the Displays settings.
