Hi - Mac M1 with an external monitor and using Optimize for Retina Displays when RDP into Windows 11.  When keeping the M1 as the main monitor works fine the optimize for retina. I've made a Mac Studio Display the main monitor and the M1 the extended, and now when using optimize for retina resolution appears to be off in RDP session - can't find icons, two blank screens.  I don't think it has to do specifically to the Studio Display as it did it also with a regular Dell second monitor.  Seems like something about making the external monitor the "main" monitor ruins it. ... In our robotics program, we routinely use Remote Desktop to access Windows PCs over telemetry links. These links may be Wifi, other licensed internet radios, Iridium, Starlink etc. To keep things safe, we have to very carefully manage the bandwidth Remote Desktop consumes. We we don't it can over-whelm the channel, preventing safety critical control data from getting to the robot, or real-time video and other data streams from getting from the robot to the operator. So we desperately need the ability to set a maximum bandwidth, and it seems to us that recent version of Windows Remote Desktop (for Windows or Mac), has removed the ability to specify the type of link and bandwidth RDP will consume. Please restore the ability for users to manage the bandwidth consumed by RDP, and don't assume that just because it is not taking all the available bandwidth, that it isn't having a detrimental impact on the network. Hello,   I am using Microsoft Remote Desktop client on MacOS (12.3.1 Monterey) and it always freeze when I copy something on my remote desktop and after the copy I jump out to MacOS. I have to force quit the MS Remote Desktop and login again to get it back to work. It's annoying because often I must work both on Remote Desktop and MacOS and switching between the two from time to time.   I read on the forums that it wasn't a problem until around last year October. Multimedia consumption via RDP using the RD Client for Android is pretty bad and a very jerky experience. This can be fixed by enabling H.264/AVC on the Remote Desktop host. But RD Client for Android does not support H.264/AVC, thus it's using some slower protocol instead even though the server supports it and has this option enabled. It would greatly enhance the session performance of the RD Client for Android if this could be implemented. We are currently delivering a third party software application through Azure Virtual Desktop to hundreds of employees. Users have a need to use the application across multiple windows (view tabular data on one monitor and map data on another monitor). When doing so they can't interact with their local machine (the session desktop has to be maximized and fully covers both windows with no access to your local taskbar). This is extremely problematic because users can't use Word, Outlook, Teams, etc. when using the application in multiple windows.   It is not an option to put the other applications mentioned above in the virtual desktop. We would have preferred to deliver the application through a RemoteApp streaming option but Azure's RemoteApp does not support ArcPro. ... View more

Hi,  On MacOs it seems that a mouse drag is not possible when switching from a screen to an other, a mouse click is needed first when moving to an other screen so the drag can work. example : RDP full screen on all monitors, all the monitors showing the desktop. drag a selection  square on the desktop of one monitor, this work, move the mouse to an other monitor, try to do them same (drag a selection square on the desktop), this do not work, you need to do a click in the monitor before so the drag work. this is really annoying when working on several software where often have do to drag selection and switching from one monitor to an other. I am using RDP since many years with the same configuration and I don't remember having this issue before. let me know if this problem can be fixed on my side or if this is a bug. Hi, I have notice that the Windows+D (Cmd+D) shortcut freezes and sometimes crashes the Remote Desktop app for MacOS. Same goes for Windows+E. The recent addition of Apple Pencil support in the iOS Remote Desktop client is a very welcome move. However, the current implementation could be improved somewhat. As it stands, trying to use the pencil for ink input in applications such as OneNote (Desktop) leads to a wavy, jagged line, almost as if there is some issue with the smoothing algorithm used to convert Apple Pencil input to Windows Ink. Hi, We have 2016/2012R2 RDSH RemoteApp Deployments. We received a ticket from a user who has their Microsoft Remote Desktop client crash after attempting to copy from the RemoteApp into their own desktop. We are able to reproduce this behavior on both 2016 and 2012R2 RDSH and in the same way on multiple deployments. The Microsoft Remote Desktop version is 10.7.6 (1972). The macOS tried on is Monterey 12.3 (M1) The issue doesn't appear to happen on the first few copy/pastes, but maybe on the 6th or 7th, or maybe more. Current workaround (very short term). killing the rdpclip.exe process on the server for the logged-in user will enable them to copy one or 2 more times before it crashes again. What are the steps to validate and/or escalate this matter to the appropriate group for further investigation, as this is a pretty critical function for our Mac user base?   We have also done some additional testing going backwards from 10.7.6, and it looks like the issue started on version 10.7.0. I didn't have access to 10.6.9. but I am able to confirm that the issue does NOT exist in 10.6.8, and it DOES exist in 10.7.0.   Thank you! ... View more

Using a 4k display on the host machine, if I connect at its native resolution the Intel graphics is unable to keep up, slowing down every other app. Remote Desktop should use the dedicated GPU whenever the resolution is greater than that of the native display, freeing up resources for other tasks like video calls.   ... Hello,   I have some feedback for the Microsoft Remote Desktop Android app on original Surface Duo.   When screen is off, I am unable to interact with the external display Remote Desktop app. When using external display, SwiftKey keeps popping up a permanent window overlay when using a physical keyboard. The settings are configured to not show up, but it does. Toggling the keyboard button on the static overlay from Remote Desktop app will close it again, but it comes right back when I use the physical keyboard again. Pretty sure it's a bug with Remote Desktop app. Unable to recognize mouse buttons (middle click, back button, forward button) I want to completely disable mouse acceleration. I can disable it inside the Windows WVD but it is also present on Android. Can you please allow Remote Desktop to completely disable mouse acceleration on both host OS (Android) as well as remote OS? External display - There is a red dot in the middle of the screen that flashes. It is somewhat annoying but easy to ignore. Passing through audio, e.g. when using Windows desktop Teams app in a WVD, people complain of poor microphone quality from me and sometimes it sounds like I am in a windtunnel. I am using an official Microsoft Teams headset. Side note, it would be great if the mute button on my headset would mute Teams inside the WVD, also the other functionality passing through to Teams in the WVD would be awesome. External display - Alt-tab does not pass through to the WVD, it switches "apps" on the Android OS. External display - Windows key on the keyboard does not pass through to the WVD, it performs a function on the Android OS only.
