Working with a customer that wants to use Purview to scan on-premises data sources (e.g. SQL). We discussed the need for a Self-Hosted Integration Runtime and here were their questions:
- Can Purview and Data Factory share the same Self Hosted Integration Runtime (running on the same machine)? [Similar to how one Integration Runtime can be shared between Data Factories in the same Azure AD tenant]
- Can the Power Bi gateway and Purview Integration runtime be installed on the same machine? I have seen articles that indicates this works with a Data Factory IR but is this a supported configuration? Customer is concerned about needing multiple machines on-premises for numerous Gateways and Integration runtimes for Azure services.
- Customer is worried about data exfiltration (including metadata) from an on-premises IR used for Purview – can the outbound connection be bound to a specific IP or FQDN either public or via Private Endpoint (as is done in Data factory)?
