We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 07/31, 12:30 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 07/31, 07:30 UTC and that during the 5 hours that it took to resolve the issue some customers may have been unable to query metric data, and/or may have received failure notifications when retrieving Application Insights data.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to a recent deployment that prevented submitted data from fully propagating through our backend systems.
  • Incident Timeline: 5 Hours - 07/31, 07:30 UTC through 07/31, 12:30 UTC.
We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

Root cause has been isolated to metric data latency in West Europe region. We have deployed the fix to mitigate the issue. Some customers may experience metric data latency in West Europe region.
