We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 05/30, 15:30 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 05/29, 02:30 UTC and that during the 13 hours that it took to resolve the issue  customers would have experienced issue in accessing data on dashboard tiles in azure portal whose queries are configured based on  azure log analytics workspaces.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to recent changes in user interface side in azure portal.

We understand that customers rely on Azure Log Analytics as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

Due unexpected error while deploying the hotfix, deployment will take longer than the expected time. Current estimation to deploy the hotfix will take ~3 hours from now.

  • Work Around: Customer can access the data from OMS portal or by running the query from App Analytics portal.

Root cause has been isolated to recent changes in user interface side in azure portal which was impacting the dependent backend service to fetch the requested data. To address this issue we have prepared a hot fix and are in process of deploying. Current estimation to fix and deployment will take ~2 hours from now.
  • Work Around: Customer can access the data from OMS portal or by running the query from App Analytics portal.

We are aware of issues within Log Analytics and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience issue in accessing data on dashboard tiles in azure portal whose queries are configured based on  azure log analytics workspaces.
