We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 06/05, 10:50 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 06/05, 07:45 UTC and that during the ~3 hours that it took to resolve the issue about 10% of the customers in the East US region would have experienced issues while accessing their data in the Azure Portal. Query performance would also have been impacted.
- Root Cause: The failure was due to performance degradation in one of our backend components .
