Experiencing Data Access in Azure Portal for Metric Data Types - 06/21 - Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 06/23, 01:28 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 06/21, 03:59 UTC and that during the 45 hours & 27 minutes that it took to resolve the issue customers experienced incorrect data and chart values for "Failed Requests" and "Server Requests" chart under Application Insights Overview blade.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue in one of our dependent platform services.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

The hotfix deployment is in progress. Therefore most of the customers will able to view correct data and few customers may experience incorrect data and chart values for "Failed Requests" and "Server Requests" chart under Application Insights Overview blade and we estimate 12 hours before this issue is completely addressed.
  • Work Around: Customer can retrieve this data from Performance / Failure blade under Application insights.

We are aware of an issue within Application Insights and are actively working on mitigation. Root cause has been isolated to one of our back-end processing service, which impacted metrics under Application Insights Overview in Azure Portal.

We have applied hotfix and it is in progress. Therefore some customers may be able to view correct data and few customers may experience incorrect data and chart values for "Failed Requests" and "Server Requests" chart under Application Insights Overview blade and we estimate 6 hours before this issue is completely addressed

We are aware of an ongoing issues within Application Insights where "Failed Requests" and "Server Requests" chart show misleading data on the Application Insight overview blade and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience Data Access Issue in Azure Portal.

  • Work Around: As a workaround please navigate to Performance / Failure blades.
