We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 09/12, 20:30 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 09/12, 18:00 UTC and during that 2 hours & 30 minutes it took to resolve the issue where some customers would have experienced issue accessing Classic Alert Rules from South Central US regions in Azure Portal
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue with one of our dependent platform services.
  • Lessons Learned: Fix has been deployed.  We do not expect a recurrence of this issue.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience issue accessing classic alert rules from South Central Region in Azure Portal.
