Migrating VM from Azure to VMWare

Copper Contributor

I need to migrate a VM from Azure to VMWare, preferably with an option to Sync the two.

Has anyone had any experience with this and could advise on tools and methodology?

I have tried VMWares P2V converter but it fails at 97% everytime so far.

hi, habe you tried to use Azure Site Recovery for this...? Best Regards
Hello! You can use Azure ASR do move yous environment without stop! But, you can download the VHD too. ;)
Azure Migrate will assist: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-au/campaigns/azure-migrate/

As mentioned above Azure Site Recovery can run in the VMWare host or in each machine similar to physical if you are doing more of a sync.

@Michael Trieu-I am having the same issue. Did you /anyone find solution or workaround for this?

Try to use VMware vCenter Converter. fins more information here https://www.vmware.com/products/converter.html

@Michael Trieu ... i know this is a very old post, but how did you eventually do this?

@Michael Trieu

1、download Azure VM OS Disk(.vhd)

2、Disk format conversion with VMware tool(.vhd 2.vmdk)
