Hello,
I am working on a domain controller decommission. The client currently uses Azure AD connect on the on-prem server. I'm looking to find information on what steps are required to safely decommission the on prem server and using Azure AD exclusively. I'm not sure if it's a simple as turning off AD sync and powering off the DC or if there are additional steps required. I plan to properly demote the server, but I guess I need to find a safe way to break AAD connect.
I've been searching but unable to find any information as everyone seems to want to go the IaaS route (Azure DC VM), but the client doesn't want to incur the expense of a new VM. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

@DanAtTI : Found some information on the Tech Community page here : https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/azure-active-directory-identity/migrating-on-prem-ad-to-azure...
Let me know if that helps.
