Azure Migration (appliance) f. Hyper-V relies on deprecated and unsupported requirements

MVP

Dear Azure team, I tried to run the AzureMigrateInstaller.ps1 (Version: 10.3.0.0)
on Windows Server 2022.

The script will fail to run. From the code the script checks if the OS it is at least Windows Server 2016.

The script tries to enable the feature PowerShell ISE which is officially deprecated and should not be used in any of your current tools.

Therefore, PowerShell ISE is no longer part of Windows Server 2022 or the next Windows Server anymore, for good reason.

Windows Server 2016 is out of main support.

The Azure Migration Appliance for Hyper-V is also outdated WS2016, using Gen 1 Hyper-V VM + VHD disk.

Why that old? You do not have to consider anyone running this appliance on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V host, do you? - edit - as the VM version is 8.0 the least OS supported for this appliance is WS 2016 anyway.

Would you mind addressing these restrictions?

Suggestions:

- fix the dependencies on PowerShell-ISE

- update the script and Hyper-V appliance to support / contain at least Windows Server 2019

- the appliance should be a Gen2 VM + VHDX file.
