We recently announced the preview of Azure Spot Virtual Machines. You now have access to excess Azure compute capacity at discounts, compared to pay as you go. Spot VMs differ from pay as you go only in price and evictions. They can be evicted at any time if Azure compute needs the capacity. There are 2 types of evictions: capacity only and price or capacity, where you can set a maximum price you are willing to pay for a single VM instance.

This preview replaces the preview of Azure low-priority Virtual Machines on scale sets. You can find additional information about Azure Spot in our documentation or the blog post. For pricing, refer to the Azure Spot page on Azure.com.
