Welcome to another Azure Content Spotlight! These articles are used to highlight items in Azure that could be more visible to the Azure community.

Azure Stream Analytics (ASA) provides an engine for analyzing large amounts of data.  Though it can be connected directly to Azure Blob storage, Azure Stream Analytics can be directly connected to Azure Event Hubs and Azure IoT Hubs extending its capability to a real-time event processing engine capable of handling millions of events per second.

This week's highlight covers two recent posts:

Azure Stream Analytics Tools for Visual Studio - Visual Studio now supports authoring of analytics applications with intellisense, syntax highlighting and support for testing using local data.  The tools are currently in preview.

Real-time Geospatial Analytics in Azure Stream Analytics - Geospatial Functions are now supported in Azure Steam Analytics.  This allows for powerful capabilities in determining spatial calculations including distance between points, overlap or within for polygons and intersect for lines.  The post provides some great examples of possible uses!

Cheers!
