As cloud solutions become more sophisticated, the tools required to maintain, verify health, and diagnose issues are advancing. Application Insights, for example, provides a flexible and insightful way of understanding and monitoring activity as it it flows within components in a solution. With the
preview of Azure Network Watcher
gaining insight into the behavior
between
the different components has become easier.
Azure Network Watcher
provides many features to understand an Azure networks and diagnose issues that may not be able to be detected using solution based logs like Application Insights and/or the Azure Portal blades. For example, the topology view allows for a visual representation of the connectivity of a network and the Next hop feature allows for verifying that routes have been correctly configured. Additional
capabilities
are available to help triage VPN issues as well as the ability to capture packets for more detailed investigation, verifying security and/or compliance.
Cheers!
