Export Data from SAP S4HANA Tables (Cloud,on-premise) using Azure Data Factory's SAP Table connector

Copper Contributor
The questions are following: these questions are for the scenarios "without creating CDS views/ODATA in S4hana"

1. Is there any performance issue while extracting tables out of S4/HANA Cloud/On-premise using SAP Table Connector?

2. Can we use the SAP HANA connector of azure Data Factory to connect to the SAP HANA DB of the S4HANA system (in the case of the S4HANA cloud/on-premise ) and export the Table to Azure?

Thank you in advance for your help it is greatly appreciated!

Hello @Shashank1180, in response to your queries.
#1) of course there is a performance impact of raw tables extraction, esp if the table size is large (some tables may run into billions of rows). SAP recommends using virtual data models, not tables extraction for various reasons (including the fact that tables extraction takes data out of the business rules & context).
#2) You may use the HANA connector though SAP will recommend going thru their application layer. though, change data capture from tables will be a challenge (unless you implement complicated SLT etc).
You may also consider this add-on to ADF specifically for SAP data on Azure marketplace. It provisions tables (with CDC) as well as modeled information like reports, CDS view, BW extractors etc:
