Updating static desktops to Windows Version 2004

Looking for any advice on mass updating approximately 100 static WVD's to version 2004. They are currently running version 1909.

It was proposed to me the only way to possibly update these is to update the Gold Image desktop then reimage each desktop, which I find to be extremely cumbersome and it seems like there has to be an easier way for us to push out this update.

Do you have any endpoint management tools that can be extend to the WVD environment?  SCCM or Update Server for example?  For static, persistent desktops, the way to update and manage them is not much different then physical desktops.
